Biking and such
Dusted this sucker off on Sunday. So though I didn't do my Sunday plank I at least did something.
Pretty certain I haven't been on a bike since sometime in June. And for more than the 18 and change miles Tanya and I did Sunday, since the MS150. Gotta get back healthy.
It was funny because I'm fairly certain the last time I was biking with Tanya was about 10 miles after this pic was taken a little over a year ago. Maybe not, but that's the last time I remember since she didn't do the MS150. Gotta exorcise the Vegas demons, internet.
One day I'll get those last 5 miles in.

I think fall gets me in a better mindset to workout. I need to get that focus back. With that said morning run complete. At memorial park and all.

...can't sleep. clowns will eat me.
I was reminded this weekend, that a long time ago, in a land far away, I used to blog.Ugh, my bad.
So seems like as good a time as any since I'm away battling ear infection fun. At least I think. So excited to be going to the doctor at 7:30. I may just stay up and watch tv, since I've been trying to sleep since 7:30pm and it has not been working out well.
So what's been going on with me? Well we had one great week of running 2 weeks ago, and then my running buddy was sidelined with back injuries (read: I have no incentive to wake up by myself. No will power whatsoever) I did get a Sunday morning run in, and run the route in the Heights I've been wanting to check out for a year. If I could figure out a water stop on the trail going towards Target, it'd be great.
I am a sucker for sunrises though. Love it. Totally makes me happen even if I'm doing something as heinous as running.
Speaking of it, there are sometimes I don't hate it as much. When I find my stride. When it's not a million degrees. When I actually run 3/days a week and start to get into it.
Too bad that doesn't happen as much as I'd like it. But with Houston Half marathon around the corner....gotta get into it soon.
Ok. Pain pills starting to work, maybe I can get another 20minutes of sleep before I'm up again.

It's been awhile
...and while I haven't posted lately, I have been running pretty regularly.
Pre Britstravaganza I was challenged by my back-in-town-on-a-regular-basis-running partner to run those 10 days before my birthday.
I interpreted that as exercise 10 days...because I'm not running THAT much. And it's hot. So.Very.Hot. that I had to switch it up to elliptical indoors to satisfy that challenge..
And then I took a week off. It was glorious. Until I started back again on Sunday...at like 9am.
read: Houston temp prob 95-100 degrees.
Me and running in heat is nothing but a hot mess as it turns out. Biking in heat is hot and it sucks. Running in heat I can't do. I can do like 1/20th of a mile and then I feel dizzy and lightheaded. Totes blows.
Other than Monday being a Monday....it was much better. The tradeoff of waking up at 5am is that its a million Houston degrees cooler. Though still 1000% humidity.
Ah well. I'll take it.

| Note the 9am feels like temp. Just sayin' |

I am going swimming today.
Triathlete Colleague: did you go running today
Me: no but I'm thinking of swimming tonight
Triathlete colleague: you shouldn't say you're thinking of swimming because you wont. You should say you're swimming tonight.
Me: ok. I am swimming tonight.
Which also means:
I'm leaving happy hour at 8 so I can get in and out of the pool at a reasonable time.
